Woodcut portrait of the author on each volume. Fine example. Definitive edition, which recast together the two main works of the famous architect and military engineer Capra (c. 1610-1683), "The new Family Architecture" (Bologna, 1678) and "The new Military Architecture" (Bologna, 1683). Capra's observations on machines, from hydraulic to lifting, from mills to machines for domestic use, to reach scientific instruments such as the "baculo mensorio", the "astronomical rod" and the "compass" are particularly important.
