Allegorical engraved plate on copper by Alessandro Dalla Via from the drawing of Antonio Zanchi before titlepage. Richly decorated letter caps in woodcut. Dedication to the Emperor Giuseppe Leopoldo of Austria in print. Excellent copy. Very rare first edition, published in Venice with the fake Nuremberg location. The first part deals with mathematics applied to military science, the second with fortification, the third with offense and defense of strongholds. The Alimari, Venetian, who lived between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, was a mathematician at the court of Moscovia.
