In-4 ° (236x179 mm). (8), 240 pp. Contemporary full parchment binding (spine restored). With 43 woodcut figures, some of which are full page and 7 on folded tables out of text. The big printer's device represent a cat eating a mouse within an ornate border. The text of the work precedes the text and dedicates it to Girolamo Porrone. Second edition (first Milan 1601) of one of the most important military architecture treatises of the period, compiled by Gabriele Busca (1540 ca. - 1605). Busca collaborated in the construction of the forts of Montmèlian, Bourg-en-Bresse (1571), Exilles (here "I choose"), S. Maria di Susa, S. Francesco di Gravere and the Consolata di Demonte; He also directed the construction of the Fuentes fort in 1603 to defend the northern border of the Spanish domains against the Protestant Grisons stationed in Valtellina. Good copy. Some slightly burnished pages and restored woodworm holes that do not harm the text.
