Itineris Auction House'sPRINTS AND DRAWINGS DEPARTMENT offers a professional service in terms of evaluation and counselling aimed at auctioning single or collective Masters artworks from the early 15th century to present. Our auction house choice of creating a dedicated Department - instead of gathering prints and drawings together within more generic figurative arts - is dued to the awareness of graphics importance among the historic-artistic world plus the presence in Western culture of a strong collecting heritage.
The Department relies on the tewenty-year experienced Antonio Berni, formerly owner of a gallery specialising in ancient and modern graphics, consultant for public collections and working in the art auction market over the last ten years.
The estimation process benefits from the availability of the largest existing Italian private collection of directories/repertoires, raisonné/annotated catalogues and monographs regarding all Masters of graphics throughout history.
Sales catalogues present a selected range of works on paper addressed to amateurs, collectors, galleries and institutions; among the most frequent artists you will find are Dürer, Schongauer, Rembrandt, Canaletto, Tiepolo and Goya up to Fattori, Toulouse-Lautrec, De Nittis, Picasso, Braque, Morandi, Fontana and Burri.
